I should have added to that the feed in tariff just may not be as much now as when you took up the option. If your friend is worried about the cost ( they have gone down now mind) then, if he/she has a south (ish) facing roof, no shading issues and it can take a minimum of 10 panels or more then she could have free solar panels if he/she wanted. The funders we deal with will put free solar panels on roofs that meet their criteria. The homeowner gets all the free electricity that the panels produce ( approx. halving the bill ) and the funder gets to keep the FIT to cover the panels, scaffolding, installation, maintenance and insurance costs. What's not to like?..lol
