How long do wind turbines take to slow down?

Once momentum has been built up, how long do wind turbines take to slow down and stop producing electricity? I know they don't stop the instant the wind stops, and the larger one's continue generating for even longer.

I've heard between 20 minutes and an hour, depending on how fast it was before. This gives the national grid time to bring gas stations on grid.

The larger they are the longer it takes. In the interim period the wind could pick up again. As long as the wind dow not drop below 8mph they will keep spinning, albeit at a reduced capacity.

All turbines have upper and lower limits to the wind speed they can handle: if the wind is too slow, there's not enough power to turn the blades; if it's too fast, there's the danger of damage to the equipment. The "cut in" and "cut out" speeds of turbines can affect the amount of time the turbines operate and thus their power output.
