Sunpower Solar Panels

The following information may not be up to date. Please check the SunPower website for exact information.

Features and Efficiency

Sunpower claims to have efficiency ratings of over 20% for their solar panels, a number that comes second only to Panasonic. Sunpower panels integrate their specially made Sunpower Maxeon solar cells technology, which includes an anti-reflective coating for increased sunlight absorption. Their system also uses a silicon contact solar cell that is completely black. This cell was invented at Stanford University. The panels are said to be incredibly reliable and of excellent quality. As a general rule, the panels developed by Sunpower are able to generate up to 50% more power per unit area.

Warranty

All of the panels that are produced by Sunpower come with a 25-year warranty. This provides coverage for both the power output and the product itself. It is the largest warranty on the market, as no other provider covers both areas of solar panels for that length of time. In addition to this, the company also guarantees that the power output of the solar PV modules will be at least 95% in the first five years.

For the next 20 years, the power output may start to decline, but by no more than 0.4% per year. At the end of the 25-year period, the output will be at least 87% of the minimum rating. This is an exceptional figure.

Price

The price of each panel varies according to the size of your roof, the amount of electricity required, and the area in which you live. Therefore, it can be difficult to put an exact price on these solar panels. If you are looking for a quote, the best thing to do would be to fill out the no obligation form on this page, and our team of expert installers will get back to you with the best offers available to you. Not to mention, the quote service is also free of charge.

Return on Investment

For Sunpower panels, the time it takes for them to pay for themselves currently stands at around 19 years. However, if you add the money that can be earned through government incentives like FIT, the time can be cut in half, and you will find yourself with an investment return in about 10 years.

Conclusion

These solar panels have excellent durability and reliability, all of which is finished off with a spectacular 25-year warranty across all aspects. With an exceptional design, Sunpower solar panels are currently the most sold solar solution in the world. The reason for this is the efficiency level that is delivered by this panel. Although this does mean that the price tag tends to be higher compared to other solar panels on the market.
