The Daikin Altherma high temperature heat pump will provide your home with heating and hot water. It’s an ideal replacement for a traditional boiler as it connects seamlessly to your existing piping and radiators, making it the perfect solution for renovations! Daikin Altherma LT and HT Split heat pumps consist of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit plus a hot water cylinder. The heat pump has its own controller, which can also be used as a room thermostat to improve system efficiencies.
With the Daikin Altherma high temperature heat pump, you enjoy the efficiency of a heat pump without having to replace any of your radiators.
This heating system makes it easy to replace your existing boiler without having to make any other changes to your existing heating system’s piping.
The Daikin Altherma is ideal for heating your hot water without needing an extra electric heater. You can stack the hot water tank on top of the indoor unit.
You can adjust the temperature quickly, easily and conveniently, thanks to the Daikin Altherma’s user interface.
The outdoor unit includes a heat pump which extracts heat from the ambient air and transfers it to the indoor unit via refrigerant piping.
The indoor unit receives the heat and uses R-134a refrigerant to increase the temperature. Although it may sound strange, a refrigerant is a substance which is used to transfer heat.
The heat is transferred from the refrigerant circuit to the water in the system. This means that temperatures can get as hot as 80°C without using an additional heater.
The installation is flexible and is designed to suit the majority of requirements.
The outdoor unit is quiet* and is usually located on the ground near to the house. It can also be located on the wall, a flat roof or up to 30m from your home. The heat pump can also be connected to a solar thermal system for even greater hot water efficiencies.
The domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is a government financial incentive available to homeowners who switch to renewable energy heating systems.
The domestic RHI scheme is for home-owners and private and social landlords who want to install renewable heating systems in their homes in England, Wales and Scotland.
It will provide long term financial support for property owners who install renewable heating systems. Apply for the domestic RHI and you’ll receive quarterly payments for seven years

HOW DOES IT WORK?
A heat pump system works like a refrigerator, but in reverse. A fridge chills the internal space by extracting the heat and expelling it via the coils at the back of the fridge.
