Mumford & Wood Ltd

Mumford & Wood has been producing high-quality joinery and refurbishment work since 1954. Founded by Derek Mumford and Dennis Wood, the company started as a partnership primarily working on refurbishments in Essex. As demand for their craftsmanship grew in the 1960s and 70s, the company moved to larger premises in Ongar to accommodate their expanding operations.

In 1984, Mumford & Wood installed an automated window construction line, making them the first UK manufacturer to do so. This new technology opened up new design possibilities and improved efficiencies, leading to a growing focus on the architectural market. In 1997, they produced the industry's first fully factory-finished, glazed sash windows and developed a system for creating Georgian replica windows using applied glazing bars.

Today, Mumford & Wood is located in Tiptree, Essex, where they continue to expand in response to increasing demand for their timber doors, casement, and sash windows. Their Conservation™ range is highly sought-after by architects, developers, and homeowners alike, thanks to their bespoke products of outstanding quality. All of their products are proudly made in Great Britain, cementing the Mumford & Wood brand as a leading name in British craftsmanship since 1954.
