Ford & Sons Ltd
Ford & Sons Ltd
Fords has been trading in Sidmouth since the late 1800s and has become synonymous with quality and good service. The business, started by Owen Ford, began its life as a traditional ironmongers from 132 High Street, a property still owned by Fords today. Essentially a family run business providing everything for the home, Fords has a strong community connection employing local experienced well qualified tradesmen as electricians, plumbers and kitchen and bathroom fitters.
Seeking to expand, in 2006 Fords moved from the High Street to occupy larger premises on the Alexandria Industrial Estate, incorporating a large kitchen and bathroom showroom together with ample room for the electrical appliances on display and the added benefit of free parking. Here customers can truly experience a 'one stop' shop for all their home needs. From purchase of a new high definition television through to electrical installation work and design of a new kitchen or bathroom. Whatever your needs for the home, Fords can meet them!
Here too, our contracting experts are on hand to discuss any electrical or plumbing requirements, whether it's something simple such as a leaking tap through to a major electrical and plumbing installation. In recent years on the commercial front, contracts have included refurbishment of the Sidmouth hospital for both electrical and plumbing work. Fords were also one of the major contractors involved in the reconstruction of the Blue Ball Inn, Sidford and the refurbishment of Eaglehurst Court in Sidmouth and are currently the plumbing and heating contractors for the new refurbishment of All Saints Church, Sidmouth.
Similarly at Alexandria, our experienced Showroom staff can advise on the next purchase of your television, oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine or fridge freezer. In a nutshell, if you're thinking of improving your home, think 'Fords'! Even though over the years Fords has grown, we've never lost sight of the reason Owen started the business in the first place and that is to give excellent service for the local community. If Owen were still alive today,we think he'd be very pleased.
