Presence in the UK market

Yingli made the decision to enter into a strategic partnership with Solar Century in 2014. The agreement stated that they will supply Solar Century with 72MW (160,000 PV modules) for solar projects across the United Kingdom. In addition to this, the panels created by Yingli are currently in operation at the Jaguar and Land Rover Manufacturing Centre in the West Midlands (UK).

Yingli has developed both monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels and put them on the market.

The monocrystalline cells include the PANDA 48 cell series, and the PANDA 60 cell series. The PANDA modules have a lower initial rate of degradation, but also a higher performance in both high temperatures and low irradiation conditions. PANDA technology is incredibly sensitive to photons; which is why it continues to produce energy even when faced with low light levels.

Features and Efficiency

The PV modules that Yingli produce are able to reach efficiency levels of up to 17.2%, meaning that they achieve a high output performance, and this is a key aspect of all the Yingli modules. The tests that they go through indicate that the panels are able to endure ammonia and salt mist exposure at the highest possible levels of severity.

The panel’s front cover is made of low-iron tempered glass at a thickness of 3.2mm. An encapsulant material is used for better resistance - ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). The panels’ frame is made from aluminium and is corrosion resistant.

Yingli offer two types of warranty for its products:

  • power output warranty
  • product warranty

The power output warranty lasts for 25 years. For the first year, the company guarantees that you will receive 98% of the minimal rated power. Over the course of the next ten years, you will receive 92% of the minimal rated power output. From the 11th year until the 25th year, the warranty will cover 82% of the minimal rated power output.

In addition to this, Yingli solar modules also have a ten-year limited workmanship warranty.
