What exactly is a biomass boiler and what does it do?  how is it different from a normal boiler? is it worth looking into and getting?

Hi there Heather.
A biomass boiler is simply an advanced wood burner that provides the space heating and hot water to a property, by burning wood (predominantly). You can find out everything you need to know about this technology here: https://www.renewableenergyhub.co.uk/biomass-boiler-information.html

We wish you all the best in your quest for knowledge regarding renewable energy sources.

Kind regards,

Richard.

A biomass boiler is a contemporary replacement for old oil and gas boilers. These biomass boilers are great because they can heat hot water, radiators, and do under floor heating. Plus they come in different sizes, but are known to reduce heating costs by around 80%.

Plus as uses green / renewable energy - there may be the option of government funding available too.
