Hi all, new to the forum. I have very little knowledge with electrics, but after watching countless YouTube videos on turning a doc motor into a generator I thought I would give it a bash.
The motor I am using is off a busted sewing machine, the info on the motor is as follows:
SEW-TRIC LTD
200-250v
0-60~.5 amp
Ac/Dc
I have no clue what any of this means, have spun motor counter clockwise and attached multimeter to it set on 200m and reading jumps from 3.2 - 78 and back again. I have attached zener diodes to both wires so power can only flow one way. Will this work as a dynamo if connected to a 0.9-5 v step up? I only want it to charge a mobile phone and torch batteries, all use 5v to charge. Any advice would neatly appreciated
