Boris Johnson's subways

Boris Johnson wants to pump the excess heat from London's underground stations into peoples' homes (minus the pollutants, of course). Do you think this is a bit far fetched, or do you think this is actually doable?

Sounds reasonable, sort of like district heating so not something unheard of exactly. I didn't know there was that much excess heat there. But anything helps I suppose.

I suppose it makes sense. You have hundreds of thousands of people in the underground at any point in time, and all of those people produce heat. Couple that with the heat of the trains, heating in shops etc, and you have a lot that's been wasted through standard ventilation. I think this is a marvelous idea.
