Hi
I have a 3.6kW PV system installed in Aug 2013. Recently I noticed the maximum daily output shown on the inverter is only 3.1 kW on a very sunny day. Is this a natural drop in output due to the age of the system or do you think there may be a problem. The installer has gone out of business so no help there

Thanks for any suggestions

Hi,

There are a few possible causes for this:
[li]Your panels may be dirty (when ours are dusty, they produce noticeably less power[/li]
[li]One or more of your panels may have failed[/li]
[li]One of your inverters (if you have more than one) may have failed[/li]
If your installer has gone out of business, you may still have recourse through the manufacturer of either of those two components, but you'll need the problem diagnosis confirmed first.  That may require calling out an electrician with solar PV expertise, and then liaising directly with the manufacturer to get it resolved.

Hope that helps.
