I have a 4KW installation that I get FIT for. It has its own meter and I get payment based on what I export.
I'm about to install 10KW more of solar which obviously has no FIT.
All this will now go thorugh my smart meter and if I want to make money from my PV I will get on a tariff that allows me to sell excess to the grid.
The issue I have is that I have an existing agreement for my FIT yet all the excess will be channeld thorugh the same meter. I can't get paid twice for the export as it will flag in time.
I asked my installer and Octupus (energy company) who will buy electric back but neither have come across a situation like this.
It doesn't seem too unusual that someone would install extra PV once the first lot (on a FIT) have been installed.
Any ideas?
Thanks
