Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love green roofs, but I think solar is more useful now. In the future, if we crack something like nuclear fusion, I'd love to see green roofs universally adopted, but right now I believe creating as much renewable energy as possible has to take priority.

(Although I do prefer the way green roofs look, if that was the question).

I think I actually prefer solar panels to green roofs. They look a bit primitive, whereas solar panels just scream high tech. As you said, creating renewable energy should be a priority too.

I prefer green roofing all the way. Not only do plants add oxygen to the atmosphere and absorb CO2, but they also provide localised habitats for wildlife as well. We're in the midst of an extinction level event, and our urban expansion is the cause. If we can do even a small thing to reverse that, we have to try. It's our duty as a people and a species to attempt to repair the damage we've been doing.
